Olympian Barb Lindquist Triathlon Clinic at Germantown Academy

Friday 6:30pm-8:30pm "Meet and Greet"
An opportunity to mix and mingle with fellow athletes and get to know Barb as she shares her inspirational story from Wyoming Fish to Olympic Triathlete. Family and friends who are not registered for the clinic are welcome to attend! Dinner will be provided.
Saturday 7:30am-5:00pm "Free Speed Through Efficiency"
Clinic content:
- Swimming technique lecture
- Pool session focusing on body position and high elbow catch drills
- Strength training session including surgical tubing (swimming/core)
- Lecture on mental skills for training and racing
- Running technique lecture
- Run session focusing on lean, cadence, and foot strike
- Bike handling skills on turf fields focusing on balance and cornering
- Transition skills including learning a bike mount and dismount with shoes on the bike
- Athletes will receive a piece of surgical tubing and theraband for strength and swim exercises
- Athletes will be videotaped in the swim and run and will receive personalized technique feedback in the week following the clinic
Barb Lindquist Bio
Barb Lindquist’s triathlon career highlights her consistency, perseverance, and excellence. Of her 134 elite career races, she won 33 and podiumed 86 times, covering all distances from sprint to Ironman. She was ranked #1 in the world from 2003-2004 and represented the USA in the 2004 Olympics in Athens (9th). Barb was inducted into the USAT Hall of Fame in 2010 and into the ITU Fall of Fame in 2017. After retiring from racing in 2005, she began her own coaching and public speaking business where she has coached two overall USAT Age Group National Champions. She also works part-time for USA Triathlon in the High Performance Department talent IDing from the NCAA swimming and running programs for our Olympic Team. Barb holds a Human Biology degree from Stanford University where she was also a NCAA swimmer and Pan American Games gold and silver medalist in swimming. Barb lives in Alta, WY with her coach/husband Loren and their 12 year-old twin boys, instilling in them the joys of the outdoor life which includes swimming, cycling, running, skiing, and their new found family "sport" of golf.
